why boxing?
Forced intense exercise that pushes the participant through limited motion by achieving an exercise rate greater than they would achieve on their own may be neuroprotective. These techniques help to improve muscle rigidity, voice, balance, and coordination, leading to more fluid muscle movement. Dual tasking, multi-directional movement and continually changing the routine may help improve mental focus and reaction time.
All ages and abilities are welcome. Clients range in age from 30s – 90s. The program is designed so that anyone at any level may participate. Care partners are encouraged to participate as well! The camaraderie and support experienced among members, care partners and coaches is beyond measure. Together we are fighting back against Parkinson's and other neurological disorders.
